4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.  Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

To the job search

This is what I think about employers...because working and finding jobs is hard enough. This should have been posted a while ago

1.  All employers should create dog friendly environments! Go Google...because you allow your employees to bring dogs, I love to use your stuff.  You should see how many dog-friendly employers there are in California.
2.  Please let people know one way or another if they got the job. Especially when you say "I will let you know one way or another by the end of the week."

Weekly Playlist - at the office

Yay! I might actually remember to do this weekly.

So last week was long... here are the highlights of my playlist.

Collect Call-Metric
Lights- Ellie Goulding. This has pretty much been on my playlist for about 4 months
Lose It- Austra.  This makes me feel whimsy...makes me think of Jane Austin for some reason.
Foster the People- Helena Beat.  If you haven't heard them your behind.
Alchemy- Above and Beyond.  The whole Group Therapy album is stunning
In a dance mood...

Cinema- Benny Benassi.  True to style...really great song and then comes the part that makes my brain want to explode- not as bad as some of his others.
Titanium- David Guetta and Sia.  WHAT!  Why did it take me 9 days to discover this existed!
Raining- Kaskade.  How can I not love him when his album is called "dance.love"

My future plans

* Thanks to Dan and Andy for this magnet so I don't forget my goals

Mockingjay

Well I am unable to find the book that I wanted to read next so I am going on a blogging frenzy tonight.

Last night I sat on my porch all and finished the final book in the Hunger Games series.  I have to say it was probably my favorite.   Even the sappy epilouge with the cliche 20 years later thing wasn't terrible...not as bad as the one in Harry Potter.

Best part was the ending -I cried! I could feel the heartache Katniss had...not because I have experienced that but probably because the author did a great job creating the characters throughout the series.

Books seem fitting at the moment considering the world appears to be in complete chaos.  I heard on the news that the famine in Somalia will nearly wipe out an entire generation of children...London's burning...job recession/ market crash...what else?

SL, UT

How fitting.  A Slutwalk in SL, UT.

I first heard about these about a month ago.  Can't wait for next weekend, not sure if I agree with the name of the movement but I'm proud to see one in Salt Lake.

What do you think?

As mankind pushes forward...

Women in Utah do not.

Yes that is a Lingerie store call Husband & Wife...what are the husbands going buy lingerie to wear also?

...I guess I need to be reminded that I am still in Utah.

Needless to say I find this very wrong.

Some artwork

Good new is that I am actually doing some of the stuff on my list.  Done in Photoshop

Rob took this picture of me on the beach in Monterrey CA,  I love it!

P.S. Good news to come but I don't want to jinx it by speaking too soon.

...more to come also like: My grand plan to make money and my Maxim conflict (why I read it.)

Big Girl Pants

Twitter, Flikr, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Blogger, Facebook…

I think I just need to mention how social media has consumed my life.

In a need to understand how to use everything, I have become so occupied with all of the different possibilities of all these sites.

So I have been working on my LinkedIn profile, and learning Twitter.  It's not that they are complex but there are so many possibilities with how to connect and use them all.  They can all be linked but then you want to keep personal and professional life separate but then you want to have a lot of followers and connections…and it's just getting more and more connected.

Oh and not to mention if you want to look good to employers you should have a consistent online presence in an area of expertise.

The amount of postings on twitter for new ways or advice to use social media, especially to get a job are endless.

I just started with twitter and subscribed to texts from about five job posting sites and already my phone won't stop buzzing.

Some pretty intriguing jobs have been posted but they are for really random towns like Westmont, IL or Fayettville OH.  Am I really ready to pick up my life and move there?

10 Pugs are the least of my worries

SO why did I give this blog the name 10 Pugs?  Well that is where my inspiration for this blog came from.

I am job searching, it is tedious.  For every legitimate job posting there is there are ten more like this….

TV Casting: Do you own 10 pugs? (Nationwide)

Do you have an obsession with pugs? Do you own at least 10 pugs and not use them for breeding purposes? Do you care more about your pugs than about the people in your life?

A major cable network is searching for people who need help overcoming their unusual addiction to share their stories on a documentary television series. This show will explore how your addiction affects your life and the lives of loved ones. Professional medical and psychological insights will be provided when applicable.

If you would like to share your story, and dig a little deeper into your addiction to pugs, please send your name, age, location, a current photo, and a brief description of your weird addiction to casting@20west.tv

-Yep my 10 pugs are ruining my life and affecting my relationships…but good news is that my 10 pitbulls are not.

THAT is what I am up against. That is the ridiculous life.

Job searching is making me feel so insignificant- like I worked really hard through school and I can do a lot but there are hundreds of applicants and many who have been doing what I want to do for several years.  How do I stand a chance!  There are so many job postings but this is for every job posting.  "Entry-Level" is just a key word to seasoned professional that they probably will stand a better chance.

But I will keep trying and applying to thousands of posts and hopefully someday I will work for a pany that I love in a city that I want to be in.

Makes grad school seem VERY appealing.

The real learining begins

OK let's be honest, life is good.  Right now it is easy- I don't have a job or school to worry about.  But there is nothing more unsettling than not having a job!

Technically I should be bored silly, but I am actually overwhelmed with things that I want to do.

-I want to get all my pictures from Europe up on Facebook.
-I want to golf a few times, and have summer bbq's
-After learning more about social media marketing, I want to do some work for my dad's business
- I want to get all my intended blog posts up!!!
- I want to stick to a fitness routine…find time to shop for something other than food
-I would like to do some volunteer work and intern with a pr company
-I want to get my hair back to blond
-I need to get Shoog's shots updated and a new windshield for my car
-I want to learn how to shoot a gun and get a tattoo (thanks you very much SOA)
-I want to learn more about so many things like:
SMO- and also how to use all the sites for personal marketing, to get a job that I love!
    SEO
    Web development
    Wine
final cut/photoshop- although I already know how to use them, I want to become expert and add to my portfolio

So much to do so little time

So keeping up with a blog is harder than it looks…just one more thing to fit in my to do list.

NOTE:  I will go through and fix all the grammar, weird spacing mistakes, and strange inconsistencies in the appearance of this blog.

I did it

So here it is.  I did it - finally gave in and made a blog. That's because I finally found a subject that I hope to have plenty to write about.

As you can see from the title this blog is about my life after graduation...

That alone is nothing to write about because there is not much going on in my life now that I don't have class AND on top of that I don't have a job.

Instead I have decided to tell the story about how absurd everything is.  Suddenly I am so aware of everything, especially how ridiculous things(like life in general) can really be.

...more to come later like: why this blog is called 10 Pugs, why I am not as board as I should be, and my grand plan for making money.  OH and I will reveal my $30,000 dollar piece of paper.
